Shawn Perich writes about conservation and the outdoors. His columns appear weekly in the Minnesota Outdoor News and the Cook County News-Herald. Numerous magazines and newspapers publish his stories, news reports, and photos. He is the author of several books, which are available here.

An avid angler and hunter, Perich travels from coast to coast gathering outdoor experiences to share with his readers. He has pondered Viking ruins in Newfoundland and kayaked among sea otters in California. However, he is at home on Lake Superior's North Shore, whether fishing for steelhead and brook trout or hunting for ruffed grouse and deer. He lives with his partner, Vikki, and their two dogs in the North Shore community of Hovland and often writes about life in this remote, northwoods community.
